Lowestoft Awarded Best Tasmanian Red Wine at Royal Hobart Wine Show

Lowestoft Awarded Best Tasmanian Red Wine at Royal Hobart Wine Show

We are honoured to share the results from the 2021 Royal Hobart Wine Show which proved to be very successful for Lowestoft's debut wine release. A remarkable result with the Lowestoft 2020 Best Barrels Pinot Noir awarded a Trophy for Best Pinot Noir Dry Red and going on to win Best Tasmanian Red Wine.

Chief Winemaker Liam McElhinney is particularly chuffed with the result, after a challenging 2020 vintage:

“Our 2020 Pinot Noirs from the legendary Lowestoft vineyard have always showed promise. A slightly cooler vintage worked well for our style, allowing the wines to retain a real freshness and perfume with lovely bright acidity. Despite the logistical and climatic challenges the 2020 harvest threw at us; our phenomenal team at Tasmanian Vintners went above and beyond to ensure every parcel of fruit was transformed into pure Pinot perfection. We are thrilled to receive the Trophy for Best Pinot Noir and Best Tasmanian Red Wine!”

Congratulations to Liam and the team at Tasmania Vintners for their wonderful achievement.
