Our Wines
With a focus on producing luxury, Burgundy-style wines, Lowestoft represents the pinnacle of Tasmanian winemaking.
Under the expertise of Chief Winemaker Liam McElhinney, the Lowestoft wines have been awarded 13 Trophies and 40 Gold Medals in the four years since the wines were first released. These awards include the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy, all of the ‘Best Pinot Noir’ Trophies at four major Australian wine shows, as well as Lowestoft being crowned the country’s best Pinot Noir producer in the Halliday Wine Companion 2023.
La Maison
La Maison is produced solely from the small, densely planted Lowestoft vineyard, which has some of the oldest vines in Tasmania. Awarded the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2023 and recognised at the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards 2021 and the National Wine Show 2022 as Australia’s best Pinot Noir, this wine reflects the true provenance of Lowestoft wines; it is luxurious, iconic and sought after.
La Meilleure
The La Meilleure Chardonnay was produced to sit alongside our La Maison Pinot Noir, representing two icon wines. In 2020 Chief Winemaker Liam McElhinney was inspired to create an ultra-premium Chardonnay which purely reflected the coastal terroir of Tasmania, leading him to vineyards across the Coal Valley, Tasman Peninsula, East Coast and Tamar Valley.
Single Vineyard
Each vintage this Pinot Noir is crafted from a single, tiny parcel of fruit from either the Woodlands or Jacoben Vineyards. This is a wine that reflects old world elegance, while expressing the very essence of Tasmanian terroir.
Estate
This highly awarded range is made with fruit sourced from the Lowestoft estate and select vineyards across the Huon, Derwent, Coal River and Tamar Valleys. These wines are an exquisite introduction to premium Tasmanian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Sparkling
The Lowestoft Sparkling range includes a vintage 2016 Grand Reserve, vintage 2017 Rosé and an NV Reserve Brut. These are super-premium wines handcrafted using méthode traditionelle, expressing purity of fruit and the finest of beads.
